Shilan Latrace
Shilan Latrace was born and raised in New Albany, Indiana. She is the second oldest of three sisters along with two older brothers. Shilan was raised in the Church of God in Christ. Her church, St. James Victory Temple COGIC, played a big role in her love for music and performing. She began singing in the church at age 3 and has never stopped singing for the Lord since. She also learned to play the drums and piano at her church. Shilan has performed with the Indiana University African American Choral Ensemble and with the small group Sojourner. She had the pleasure of gracing the stage with Sounds of Blackness singer Patricia Lakey-Aiken and many other well-known musical artists.
Shilan is now attending Indiana University Bloomington and is majoring in music business and production with a minor in music. She is going into her senior year and is looking forward to starting her music career when she graduates. She is a force to be reckoned with and an artist that separates herself from the rest. This singer, songwriter, producer, instrumentalist, and so many other things, is an artist all around, and uses the stage as her canvass.
